Trains and boats and planes... well train from Burpangary to Eagle Junction and change for the Domestic Terminal, check in and fly to Cairns. At last we meet up with Caroline and Benji.

The hire car is painless and we soon leave Cairns for the drive up the coast for Port Douglas and our first overnight stop. We cannot resist a walk along the beach, the first where the rain forest touches the ocean. The accommodation is much better than we had been led to believe with a small swimming pool to use before a stroll along the main street and supper at 2fish. Seafood; what else?
